These actions were SO much fun to experiment with. When editing, I immediately found favorites in Nostalgia and Femme Fatale. Femme Fatale gave mean enriched painting aesthetic to my photographs.I wanted to apply it to every image immediately.I was in love with this one from the get go. Nostalgia gives a muted feeling of color tunes, which is also beautiful. Especially when I apply to work that is more conceptual. It represents images beautifully, especially in a body of work. I’m happy to have these and be one of the first to experiment with them. I was truly inspired by my own works again.

For me these actions molded my body of work into something I have always hoped it would be. It was always such a struggle for me to achieve that painterly look on my studio images until I found this collection. I found myself gravitating towards Garden of Paradise and Golden Age, as they quickly became my new favorite Fine Art Actions. The warm tones of each complimented skin ones, enhanced my models freckles, and added a whimsical touch that I have tried so hard in the past to achieve on my own. I found myself unable to get up from my computer as I was having so much fun editing. I felt like a kid on Christmas morning playing with a new toy!

I really enjoyed playing with these and think the colour tones are lovely. I wanted to keep a warm tone to the images, as they were shot in the afternoon and I wanted to keep that golden quality of the light. I found Golden Age worked best for both these images, and I also played around with the opacity of the different layers in the group, as well as the overall opacity of the groups as a whole, to get the desired effect.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this collection since it was by Lillian Liu, who I adore and is a color genius. I was afraid I wasn’t going to know what to do with it, but after playing with them I can honestly say it’s my favorite actions to use now. It’s such a beautiful collection full of colors and tones, both warm and cold. I did noticed that this collection has way more layers to it than the others collections. It can be a little overwhelming, but with the labeling of each layers it made it super easy to give an idea of what to do with them. I love the fact that the actions are so different from one another yet still cohesive and they all have the Lillian Liu signifier style in them. The only thing I’m upset about is the amount of actions in this collection. I want more! I can’t wait to add this to my work flow, I feel like I’ll be using this collection a lot.
