Blue is a versatile color that connects to a variety of emotions.
It can be found. to be calming and soothing. It’s connected to peace, serenity, tranquility, security, and trust, to name a few.

“It’s like in the great stories Mr. Frodo.
The ones that really mattered.
Full of darkness and danger they were,
and sometimes you didn’t want to know the end.
Because how could the end be happy.
How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad happened.
But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow.
Even darkness must pass.
A new day will come.
And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer.
Those were the stories that stayed with you.
That there’s some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it’s worth fighting for.”
I wanted to pull in the Middle Earth and Mordor for this image.

I created these one year ago with a fantastic team – I had a vision for how I wanted this shoot to look, and maybe for the first time ever it turned out exactly like what I had in my head 😄 The series is titled “Blue As Night” and was published in Gilded Magazine
I used Moonstone (Crystalline Collection), Another realm and Celestial dreams (Nirvana Collection) for this set to go from greens and pinks to moody blues.

“The hum of bees is the voice of the garden.” 🐝
It is the first time that I use my own garden for a photoshoot. I planted a bee meadow in my garden a year ago and am now amazed at what beautiful flowers bloom on it. When i saw the bee pasture (i hope this is the right botanical term in english, in German it is called “Bienenweide”) i knew i had to do a photoshoot in it.

My gosh, when I saw this gem in my grandmothers garden I knew I had to do something in here! So, I guess you all remember the beautiful Photo from Bella with Ophelia Overdose some years ago? Yeah, I have to admit I was highly inspired here by it! Thanks Bella!

Whenever I can I try to bring in some of my model’s personality to a picture…in this case, my model who is also my sister, really loves to read a lot and is very connected to nature and plants in particular….so idk! For this idea she was quite the perfect fit and I am happy with the final result! 🙂
In the post production I used the Regal Action from the Color Lab’s Royal Collection.

I love playing around with what I have laying around so the result from this session was done with a curtain and a necklace. One small octagonal softbox high, pointing down. Shot with my Canon 5D II and an 85mm lens.

Dreams only live until you reach them, as soon as you catch one it quickly dies, but at the same time a new one is born and is already flying around.

Blue is definitely my favorite color when it comes to photography and color toning. And I discovered recently that the symbolic behind blue is “dream” and “serenity” , no wonder it’s a color we like to use in fairytale pictures !
This is a picture I took during my road trip in New Zealand meeting a lot of amazing people and creating art together on the road… This is one of the portraits I did with the beautiful Victoria Lenton in probably one of the only remaining lupin field at that time !

“Flower Moon” For this week’s challenge!
I am a big fan of Vampire Weekend and I was inspired by the lyrics from the song “Flower Moon”.
Blue and cold tones are really my preferred tones and live working with them!

I recently made a little trip to wonderland! ☕️🐰
I discovered this little labyrinth not far away from our home and I fell in love! This time I tried Bella’s photoshop actions for the first time and I’m thrilled! I tried out “Secret Garden” and “The Kiss” from “The Romantic Collection” for this look.

Blue is my color. As a little girl i frequently had pink gifts. I hated pink and but i loved blue.
I still hear my mother’s voice : blue is not a color for girl but for boys.
So , today,i love working with blue and female modele… Just to remember the little girl who loved blue.

This is an old photo of my first project in The Netherlands, it has a special part of my heart.

This is a picture from my new editorial. I was fascinated by this beautiful location, and by the amazing ceiling. I saw the moon, stars and planets in my mind… and all of this influenced me during my workflow.

I mixed some actions from The Color Lab Collection: “La Vien Rose” and “Golden Harvest” from The Cinematic Collection by Kate Woodman, “The Kiss” from The Romantic Collection, “Inca Gold” from Fauna Collection, and Infinite Color Panel.

This was from my second most recent collab, which was all the way back in November when I visited Cuba. I sewed up this outfit last minute since I needed something long and lightweight that I could just crumple up in my backpack. I didn’t have a data or phone plan, so Lienis and I met up the old school way: set up a time and location and pray the other person will show up.

I am so thankful to have met such a wonderful and trusting model!
The overall look/aesthetic of this image was celestial-inspired. Even after I deemed the image as “done”, I must’ve went back to it ~3 times to modify it because I just wasn’t completely satisfied with the result. I think adding the glowy birds finally helped tie it all together. As usual, all the photos used are my own so I had to chase the birds before abruptly stopping to photograph them mid-flight.

This shot was done right outside of my house, I had a 3m x 2m baby pool and placed my black backdrop over it! We filled the pool with water which didn’t turn out too visible in photos.

I am happy to present a self portrait that I was able to do during the lockdown and that is dear to my heart. It evokes both a flood, a sinking, the veil of a wreck or a broken ice in a thousand pieces, floating in the middle of an infinite ocean.

This is actually shot against my bedroom wall, which is a lovely shade of dark petrol blue 🥰 Both Lillian and the wonderful lady behind Royal Black stayed over at my house for a few days a few summers back and we had some wonderful creative adventures! I miss them, especially right now! I hope I can do this kind of stuff again soon. But I’ll have to stay patient 😊
