Last week’s creative challenge theme was COMPOSITION.
With this challenge we wanted to see how you used Photoshop to bring your visions to life! That includes everything from expanding shots, adding elements into a shot, changing backgrounds, and so on.
A big thank you to everyone who shared their work! You’re all incredible and so inspiring! Here are your favourite submissions!

At first, I wanted to show the contrast between the model and the location, but after almost a year, I prefer something more classic and decided to transform the image.

I found this photo I did recently for a client, and I was attracted by this beautiful wardrobe. Color toned with The Color Lab actions!

“the butterfly girl”

I decided to take my favourite elements and bring them all together along with the skirts (which was planned to be comped in from the start) into one final image. Sometimes I get a bee in my bonnet and just let my imagination take over completely. I get entirely and happily lost in composting pieces.

I took advantage of quarantine to improve my composition and expansion skills ; this is an old photo that I had not yet post processed.

Compositing is something I quite enjoy. Need to practice more though. I created this image right after watching Aquaman and was really inspired by the way they used lights on the scene and on the promo posters.
I knew that I wanted movements in this imagery, so we tried different poses to see what works and when I got the shot that I wanted, I asked the model to move the fabric around and took 10-15 frames, so I have different shots to choose fabrics from and composite the final image 😊

I do tend to do a fair bit of composite work in my images, I thought I’d share one of my images from the last few days.
A friend in London and I have been wanting to collaborate for a while and had plans to meet and create but unfortunately the lockdown took over. But we created from afar instead!

I edited for the first time in a long time and coincidentally it’s a composition! 😂 So I just barely made it into one of these weekly challenges ❤️

Embrace light and darkness. I was beyond captivated by this cave image, taken by my extremely talented friend Daniel Greenwood. I asked him if I could use it in some new work and he graciously let me run with it. Appreciate dark and light times. They are both needed in your life as counterweights.
Scenic composites have never been my strength but from time to time I try to push myself so that I can improve, even though that usually results in a very lengthy and frustrating process that easily leads to a creative block. It’s a bit hard to describe the feeling of relief I felt when this composite was actually coming together for my 5th concept!
I used my own stocks for this so I spent many hours digging through my photo archive for something usable, haha! Here’s where the images came from:
-Base photo: Seattle
-Deers: Alberta
-Elk: Yellowstone
-Bastion: Budapest
-Mountains: Grand Tetons
-Foliage/grass: Netherlands
-Trees: Seattle

Well I was inspired by the amazing art produced for the challenge so I decided to create something that I haven’t really “done” before.
I create a lot of fantasy and composite art on the regular, but I have yet to try my hand at photo-bashing. Essentially making up a major element of the art, from pieces of stock – not a direct image of it or stock image of it.
This is the character Lilith from an upcoming video game, in the Diablo series from Blizzard Entertainment. I’ve played the game for quite some time and have enjoyed the deep story of good versus evil. The base image of the model was captured for a Patreon video teaching students about butterfly lighting. She’s wearing a simple blue sweater and didn’t have a lot of heavy makeup on. However there was something about her expression that made this the image I chose as the candidate to build up the rest of the work around her.
I look forward to doing a real shoot with the appropriate styling to bring this dark fantasy to life.
